Samsung Launch SSD T5 with 540 MB/s transfer speed.

ON Tuesday Samsung launches its new portable solid-state drive (PSSD) T5 that can transfer data with speed up to 540 MB/s  as compared to the previous (PSSD) T3’s 450 MB/s.

SSD is a storage device that transfers data at faster speeds than a hard disk drive (HDD) thanks to V-NAND flash memory technology that ensures its higher transfer speed than a motor fitted HDD. The SSD is rapidly replacing the HDD in the external memory storage market.

Like the T3, the T5 will be available in four models such as 2 terabytes (TB), 1TB, 500GB, and 250GB. The T5 that features lightweight, shock-resistant design is smaller than an average business card, with dimensions of 74x57.3x10.5 mm and weight of 51 grams.

The T5 will go on official sale in 50 countries this year, said Kim Un-soo, senior vice president of brand product market at Samsung Electronics’ Memory Business.
